Help Support GSC - The Annual Fund
Annual Fund | Gift Bricks | Friends of Fine Arts

What is the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is a yearly fundraising effort that supports the general operating budget of the College. As higher education costs increase and state funds decrease throughout West Virginia, it is essential that we strengthen the financial support from our alumni and friends. Your gift to the GSC Annual Fund will help to make up the difference between the cost of receiving a higher education and the support that is available from tuition, fees, and the state of West Virginia. The mission of the Annual Fund is to support the priorities of the College.

Why Is It Important That I Give?

Glenville State College is challenged to compete among its peer institutions. Concord, West Liberty, Shepherd, and Fairmont all have larger total and per student endowments, enabling them to invest considerably more in the quality of their programs. Glenville State College needs your Annual Fund gift to remain competitive. If there ever was a time to give to Glenville State College, it is now.

How Will My Gift Be Spent?

Scholarship and Financial Aid
Financial Aid and Scholarships for students continue to be one of the most pressing needs of the College. Over 70% of our students rely on financial aid and scholarships to help pay a portion of their educational expenses. Through scholarships the College is able to recruit and retain academically gifted high school graduates.

Academic Support
Our Faculty are the heart of the Glenville State College academic experience. We need to maintain high academic excellence through support of our faculty. Annual Fund donations will assist our faculty in providing the best possible education for GSC students.

Facilities and Technological Upgrades
Modern facilities and equipment work in recruiting top students and faculty. We need your Annual Fund contribution to acquire state of the art computers and other technological equipment for classrooms, the library, and laboratories.

Campus Beautification
The first impression of the College is its appearance. Statistics show that the visual appeal of a campus is one of the main factors students use in selecting a college. Landscaping, gardening, and building projects increase the beauty of the campus and help us attract new students.

Glenville's Highest Priority
The College will direct your gift to the area of highest need. Here at Glenville State College, we make the success of our students the number one priority. Through a gift to the Annual Fund, you will be making a commitment to the future of this campus and its students. Please show your support by giving to the GSC Annual Fund prior to June 30, the end of the Annual Fund fiscal year.

How to Make A Gift

Check
A personal check is a simple way to make a gift to the Annual Fund. Checks should be made payable to the GSC Foundation.

Credit Card
The Foundation accepts VISA or MasterCard. A gift by credit card can be made by calling the Foundation Office at (304) 462-4125.

Automatic Monthly Deductions
You can make a gift to the Annual Fund through monthly payments without having to write a check. Automatic monthly deductions from your personal account is a convenient way to spread out your donation over an entire year. For information or an application form, please contact the Foundation at (304) 462-4125.

On-line Giving
It will soon be possible to make your contributions on-line. Please check back again soon for more information.

Gifts of Stock & Property
Gifts of stock, securities, and personal property may be more advantageous than cash gifts. A significant benefit of this type of gift is that contributions of stock or mutual funds are exempt from capital gains tax. Prior to transfer, please contact the Foundation at (304) 462-4125.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Many employers recognize the importance of philanthropy by agreeing to match donations by their active or retired employees and in some cases the employees' spouses. To qualify for a matching gift, you must obtain a matching gift form from your company's human resources office, complete it, and return it to the Foundation Office before the June 30 fiscal-year deadline.

The Foundation will mail you a receipt acknowledging the amount of your gift. All contributions to the GSC Annual Fund will be recognized in the College's annual report of gifts and are tax deductible.
