antidepressants and antipsychotics). Theories of
drug addiction and issues regarding prevention/treatment
of drug addiction will also be discussed. Prerequisites:

| This course covers the behavioristic paradigms
of learning, classical and operant conditioning
and social learning theory, the Behavioral roots
of cognitive psychology and the cognitive revolution
and then goes on to the cognitive paradigm’s
concepts of prototypes, categorical and schematic
representations, the information processing paradigm,
structures and processes of human memory, encoding,
storage, retrieval, interference and forgetting.

| 493 Senior Seminar

| The senior Seminar is the “capstone”
to the educational experiences in the fields of
Psychology and Sociology. It serves the same purpose
as a thesis for Masters students and a dissertation
for Doctoral students. It is a demonstration of
the student’s ability to carry out, present,
and critically evaluate research. Prerequisites:
SOCS 293 and second semester Junior or Senior status. |
