WVSU's Scott Drops 42, Pioneers Fall

(INSTITUTE, WV) --- The Glenville State Pioneers suffered their first loss on the young season, a 87-80 setback to the WV State Yellow Jackets. The Pioneers squad was again impressive in spurts, but was unable to overcome All American Ted Scott's 42 points.

Mercyhurst Runs Past Lady Pioneers

(ERIE, PA) --- The Lady Pioneers didnt have an answer for Mercyhurst's hot shooting first half and was unable to recover as they dropped a non conference road game tonight, 83-47. Mercyhurst was paced by Amy Achesinski's 21 points and Stephanie Prischak's 17 points.

Pioneers Make It Two Straight, Blast OSU-Newark

(FAIRMONT, WV) --- The GSC Pioneers made it two straight to open the season with a convincing 88-55 victory of Ohio State University – Newark (0-2), in day two of the GST Tipoff Classic hosted by Fairmont State. Senior F Anthony Kimble lead the Pioneers with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting, as Glenville State (2-0) led from start to finish and have yet to trail this season.

Pioneers Open Season With Win, Down WV Wesleyan

(FAIRMONT, WV) --- The Pioneers Men's Basketball team already did something in their first game of the 08-09 Season that they were unable to accomplish last season, defeat WV Wesleyan. The Pioneers raced out to a 20 point first half lead and held on for an 84-69 win in the GST Tipoff Classic hosted Fairmont State University.

Ashland University to much for Lady Pioneers

(ASHLAND, OH) --- The young Lady Pioneers ran into a senior laden squad from Ashland University last night as they dropped their season opener, 80-41 from Kates Gymnasiums. GSC was plaqued by 27 turnovers and poor shooting as they felled behind early and were unable to recover, as they were without the services of 2^nd Team All WVIAC performer, Junior G Donita Adams.

(GLENVILLE, WV) --- Glenville State College will presented the 2008 Clarissa Williams and Frank Montrose Awards during pre-game festivities of the Pioneer Homecoming game with West Virginia State University on Saturday, October 25th at Morris Stadium.

Meet The 2008-2009 Glenville State Pioneer

Glenville, WV—Glenville State College has named Evan Joseph Aldridge as the Pioneer Mascot for the 2008-09 school year. The new Pioneer was introduced on Wednesday, April 23rd, during the campus picnic at the GSC Amphitheatre. Aldridge was selected after a rigorous process that included an application with an essay, references, and an interview with the selection committee.
