Help Support GSC - Friends of Fine Arts
Annual Fund | Gift Bricks | Friends of Fine Arts

Glenville State College takes great pride in our arts programs and our presentation of the visual and performing arts. Our faculty are talented and dedicated to providing students with the education and experience they need to be successful upon graduation. Today, we face increasing costs in higher education and the threat of funding cuts at both the federal and state levels. To maintain our present level of excellence and grow in the future we need additional private support.

The purpose of our fundraising efforts is to enable us to continue to provide the very best in arts education and entertainment for the people of central West Virginia.

In 1998, the Glenville State College Division of Fine Arts received an award of music equipment valued at over $102,000 from the Lyle B. & Patricia Clay Foundation, Inc. This grant will provide a significant boost to the music program. In making this substantial award it is the donors policy to ask the recipients for a matching contribution. GSC has therefore made a commitment to provide five much needed practice rooms in the 1998-99 academic year. To help raise the necessary funds to purchase the practice rooms, gold nameplates recognizing "friends of the fine arts" will be installed on the seats in the fine arts concert auditorium. Donors can name the seat for themselves, or in honor or memory of someone special. The nameplate will remain for one calendar year from the time the gift is processed.

The donor will have the opportunity to renew the seat annually. In addition to the nameplate, the donors name(s) will appear in all fine arts programs and the GSC Foundation, Inc’s. annual report. The donor will also be kept abreast of the activities of the fine arts division through its newsletter. Your tax deductible gift of $100 or more will not only help us meet our grant commitment, it will also allow us to continue to provide a quality education to our students.

If you wish to make a more significant gift we are providing the opportunity for donors, both individual and corporate, to purchase a practice room and have it named for them in perpetuity.

The division has chosen a state of the art sound isolation practice room by Wenger that provides diversity in performance and environment at a competitive cost. The GSC Foundation, Inc. has purchased the first of ten rooms. It is on display, on the first floor of the fine arts building and already in use by our students. Please help us provide the art education our students deserve.
