Desk Worker - Academic Support Center

Please note that qualifications for all on-campus positions are as follows:

  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
  • Must be self-motivated and possess solid time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential student information
  • Good level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
  • Appropriate and professional behavior at all times
  • Current enrollment as a GSC student in good standing
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0
The position of Desk Worker also entails the following qualifications:
  • Maintain accurate tutor center attendance logs
  • Maintain accurate study hall attendance logs
  • Maintain accurate contact list of all peer tutors, for both drop-in and other content area
  • Match student requests for tutoring with either drop-in services or other content tutoring by appointment
  • Answer phones in a kind and courteous manner and direct calls promptly
  • Monitor student use of the ASC computer lab
  • Attend orientation and other training sessions as required by Academic Support Center staff
  • Support all Academic Support Center policies
