Sigma Omega Beta Fraternity is one of two social fraternities at Glenville State College. Founded on August 23, 2010, we are the youngest Greek organization on campus. Our colors are black and orange. We have a total of forty-two members, eleven of whom are active. Our core values are Honor, Respect, and Brotherhood. We teach our brothers how to be good men as well as good Americans. The Greek God that symbolizes our fraternity is Aries. Our philanthropy is The American Cancer Society.
The founding members of our organization are: Shane Lehman, Dustin Roy, and Lynn Fredrick. We are descended from the national fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon. Shane and Dustin were members of Tau Kappa Epsilon, and then decided to branch off and create their own fraternity. In doing this they decided that the mascot would be a phoenix, because when one phoenix dies a new one was is reborn from its ashes. Our phoenix symbolizes Sigma Omega Beta rising from Tau Kappa Epsilon.
