Meeting Guidelines

Regular meetings of the Glenville State College Board of Governors will be held at least six times a year, with Board Committees meeting approximately one hour prior to the Board meeting, if needed.

Full board meetings will be held in the Mollohan Campus Community Center, Room 319 (Third Floor) at 12:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.

A simple majority (7) will constitute a quorum to conduct business. There will be no voting by secret or written ballot.

The Open Meetings or "Sunshine" Act

All Board meetings are open to the public and anyone who wishes to speak to the Board in the session may do so by registering to speak ten minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin.

Media representatives are welcome to attend open meetings. Advance notice of the date, time, and place of all regular and special meetings will be given to the local news media, posted on the Glenville State College Board of Governors web site, and sent to the WV Secretary of State’s Office for publication in the WV State Register, except in the case of an emergency meeting requiring immediate action. Agenda’s for current meetings will be available in the President’s Office and posted on the Glenville State College Board of Governors web site at least three working days before the Board meeting.

When appropriate, and in accordance with §6-9A-4 of the Open Meetings Act, the Board may go into executive session (closed to the public). While minutes of the executive session may be taken, no decisions will be made in executive session.
