The Glenville State College Track & Field teams traveled to Wheeling Jesuit over the weekend of April 29-30. Not only did both the men’s and women’s team finish in fifth place, Head Coach Cam Perry was honored as the WVIAC Men’s Coach of the Year.
The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s track and field team garnered 222 points en route to a conference title while Seton Hill’s women’s posted 179.75 points to earn the conference crown Saturday.
On Saturday, May 21, 2011, Glenville State College will induct five alumni into the Curtis Elam Athletic Hall of Fame.
Matty Porter, Glenville, earns the WVIAC Field Athlete of the Week honor placing 1st in the discus and 2nd in the shot put this past weekend at Waynesburg. Concord University captured the WVIAC Men’s Golf Championship in record-breaking fashion as the Mountain Lions coasted to a 52-stroke victory and established a new 54-hole team standard of 881.
Concord dominated with the top three individual finishers as the Mountain Lions roared to a 24-stroke victory at the WVIAC Northern Regional men’s golf tournament.
