The Glenville State College Class of 2014 includes graduates who completed requirements for an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a variety of academic areas including business, criminal justice, teacher education, and natural resource management among others. The GSC Class of 2014 is made up of more than 220 students who completed their degree requirements in July 2013, December 2013, and May 2014.
Thirteen Hidden Promise Scholars graduating from Glenville State College were the guests of honor at a dinner held on Friday, April 30th in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom. GSC President Dr. Peter Barr who first envisioned the Hidden Promise Scholars (HPS) program in 2006, presented commemorative plaques and Hidden Promise Scholars class rings in honor of their achievement.
Glenville State College employee Richard Turner has been named the 2014 GSC Classified Employee of the Year. He works as a Maintenance Worker with the college’s Physical Plant. GSC President Dr. Peter Barr presented the award to Turner during a staff recognition luncheon on April 28th.
On Friday, May 9th four Glenville State College Army ROTC students, also members of the WVSU based ‘Yellow Jacket Battalion,’ were commissioned as United States Army Second Lieutenants during a ceremony held at the state capitol in Charleston.
Twenty-nine students, one student organization, and one student group’s faculty advisors have been recognized at the 2014 Glenville State College Honors Convocation Ceremony. The event took place on May 1st following a banquet in the Mollohan Campus Community Center Ballroom.
With summer just around the corner, final preparations are being made for the annual Glenville State College Criminal Justice Summer Camp.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in GSC’s new Waco Center which is located on Mineral Road in Glenville.
The artwork of Glenville State College Assistant Professor of Art Liza Brenner has been on display in an art exhibit at West Virginia State University.
GSC psychology junior Judith Urbanic received the prestigious “Best Undergraduate Oral Presentation” at the 89th annual meeting of the West Virginia Academy of Science held at Shepherd University.
Everyone is invited to the annual Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Mollohan’s Restaurant at Glenville State College.
