Students from Dr. Ross Conover’s Ecology and Field Biology class, and other Glenville State College volunteers, spent nine wet hours hauling trash out of the Little Kanawha River recently. Members of the self-proclaimed ‘Little Kanawha Navy’ removed trash and debris from this section of the river last year as well.
Thanks in part to a West Virginia Humanities Council grant, staffers in the Glenville State College Archives have been working to digitize several old 8- and 16-mm films. Many of the films are available for viewing on the GSC website.
Members of the Glenville State College Student Veterans Association invite everyone to this year’s Veterans and Military Ball on Saturday, November 8th. The event is open to community members, students, faculty, and staff as they show their support for our veterans while enjoying a fun evening together.

Glenville State College Bluegrass music major Laiken Boyd will perform her senior recital on Friday, October 31st at 7:00 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
Create West Virginia, the statewide grass-roots initiative stimulating Innovation Economy growth in West Virginia, and The Building Conference, West Virginia’s placemaking conference, will hold their first-ever joint conference in partnership with Glenville State College in Glenville, WV, October 26-28, 2014.
More than 400 high school students and fifty colleges were involved in the GEAR-UP fair.
In accordance with tradition, the 2014 Glenville State College Homecoming Court was announced at the annual Coronation Ceremony on Monday, October 6th, and then presided over all of the following week’s events; including the homecoming dance, picnic, pep rally, parade, and Saturday football game.
A special Oktoberfest Premium Night is being planned in Mollohan’s Restaurant at Glenville State College on Thursday, October 23rd from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
