GSC Receives Second Grant from Weyerhaeuser

The Glenville State College Land Resource Department has been awarded a grant from the Weyerhaeuser Company for a second year in a row. The $2,185 grant has been used to purchase advanced forestry tools in tree measurement to enhance the GSC Forest Technology program.

GSC Classical Piano Recital November 12th

Anita White, Glenville State College Adjunct Instructor of Piano and Department Accompanist, will be playing in a piano recital of classical hymns on Monday, November 12th. The annual event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The event is free to the public.

GSC Annual Jazz Band Concert November 14th

The annual Glenville State College Jazz Band Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The set will feature familiar classics by the Average White Band, Count Basie Band, Glen Miller Orchestra, and many more.

GSC Men’s Basketball to Play Exhibition Game with WVU

Glenville State College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Stephen Dye has announced that his team will play an exhibition game against the West Virginia University Mountaineers on Tuesday, November 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the West Virginia University Coliseum in Morgantown.

Glenville State College: A Picturesque Campus with a Haunting Past

A cold case, an unsolved murder, and restless spirits from the past…all of these things sound like they came straight out of a movie and not from Glenville State College. There are countless eyewitness accounts about the incidents from across the GSC campus. The majority of the ‘experiences’ or ‘sightings’ happen in Clark Hall, Louis Bennett Hall, and the Administration Building. Many say the ghost in these buildings is ‘Sis Linn.’ There have been stories about her haunting the GSC campus since at least the 1970s not only around Halloween each fall but also all year long.

GSC Fall 2012 Pioneer Preview November 10th

The annual Glenville State College Fall 2012 Pioneer Preview will take place on Saturday, November 10th. This event is held for prospective students and their families to tour the campus and learn about GSC academic degree programs and student services.

GSC Alum Presenting Artwork at RFK Library

Joseph Pettit, a 1976 Glenville State College graduate, will be presenting his oil paintings in front of the GSC Robert F. Kidd Library on Friday, October 26th from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This showcase is one of many planned activities for the 2012 Homecoming Week.
