Duncan, SC – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers softball team fell to Tusculum College on Sunday afternoon in the Mid South Tournament by a score of 2-4.
Tusculum got on the score board first in the bottom of the first as they took a 1-0 lead. GSC would then score in the second inning when Lacey Matheney hit a homerun tying the game at 1 all.
Tusculum would then score two more runs in the bottom of the second as they claimed a 1-3 lead.
The Lady Pioneers would cut the lead to one when Lacey Metheney hit a single to right field bringing home Kayleigh Huck, making the score 2-3.
Tusculum would score again in the fifth inning giving them a 2-4 lead. GSC however could got find their bats in the last two innings as they fell to Tusculum 2-4.
Lacey Metheney went 2 for 3 with one home run and two RBI’s. Carly Caldron went 2 for 2 and was walked once.
Meagan Lesser pitched all six innings for GSC as she gave up 10 hits, four runs, and walked one batter.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Thursday, March 8th when they travel to Bell, West Virginia as they take on West Virginia Tech in a double header. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
