Lady Pioneers Down Bluefield State

Meagen Lesser went four for six with six RBI's and scored one run as the Lady Pioneers swept Bluefield State

Bluefield, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers softball team swept  Bluefield State on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 10-0 and 11-0.

In game one, the Lady Pioneers took a quick lead in the top of the first inning when Kayleigh Huck hit a RBI single scoring Carlee Charton. Later in the first, GSC’s Meagen Lesser hit a two RBI single as Kayleigh Huck and Carly Caldon both scored as GSC took a 3-0 lead.

GSC would not look back as they scored one run in the top of the second, they added two runs in the top of the third inning, added one run in the fourth, and finished the Lady Blues in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Lady Pioneers scored three more runs.

The Pioneers would cruise to a 10-0 victory over Bluefield State in game one.

Meagen Lesser went two for two with 4 RBI’s and scored one run while Kayleigh Huck went two for four with two RBI’s and scored three runs.

Brittany May pitched all six innings as she allowed three hits, no runs, and struck out one batter.

In game two, it was more of the Lady Pioneers they went up 2-0 in the top of the first inning.

GSC would add two runs in the top of the third when Carly Caldon hit a RBI as she scored Carlee Chatron, also in the third Meagen Lesser would hit a double to left field as she scored Brittany Spencer as the Lady Pioneers took a 4-0 lead.

GSC would have no problems in the second game as they would once again cruise to an 11-0 win.

Carly Caldon led GSC as she went two for four with four RBI’s and scored two runs. Kayleigh Huck also had a good game as she went two for four with three RBI’s and scored twice.

Meagen Lesser pitched all five innings as she gave up only one hit, no runs, and struck out seven batters.

The Lady Pioneers return to action Wednesday, March 28th when they return home to take on Seton Hill. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
