Sutton, WV - Cami Roberts signed a letter of intent to play golf for Glenville State College on Monday in front of family members and friends, including her high school golf coach Bill Mitchell and Athletic Director Lynn Stalnaker.
“I am so proud of Cami. She has a positive attitude and she works hard at the sport. I am proud to have been her coach at Braxton County High School. I really feel that she will be an asset to the GSC golf team,” said Bill Mitchell, coach of the BCHS golf team.
Cami was a three year varsity player for Braxton County High School and in her senior year she took 10th place at regionals which were held at the challenging Stonewall Resort in Weston.
Cami has improved her game by more than 10 strokes each year totaling well over 40 strokes since she picked up the sport during her sophomore year of high school. She has broken into the 80’s a few times during her senior year, a benchmark that most amateur golfers rarely reach.
She plans to continue to work on her game and hopes to place within the top ten or better in the WVIAC Conference before she graduates from Glenville State. “I am so excited for the future and the opportunities that await me at Glenville State College. I plan to study Education and I am grateful for the chance to be a member of the golf team. I am honored to represent Braxton County,” said Roberts.
