On the Pioneers first drive of the game, after a first down and a roughing the passer penalty against the Mocs, running back Rahmann Lee took the hand off but fumbled the ball as the Mocs recovered the fumble and then drove 49 yards as they took a quick 7-0 lead.
After the turnover the Pioneers offense could never get their rhythm back, as UT Chattanooga would jump out 21-0 heading into halftime.
In the second half it was more of the same story as the Pioneers offensive struggles continued throughout the game.
The Pioneers defense only gave up two second half touchdowns as the UT Chattanooga Mocs walked away with a 35-0 victory over the G-men.
The Pioneers only recorded 5 first downs in the game while the Mocs racked up 31.
The Pioneer defense gave up 230 rushing yards on the night while GSC only rushed for 17 yards. It was the same story threw the air as UT Chattanooga passed for 247 yards while GSC threw for only 61 yards.
The Mocs had a big advantage in total offensive plays and yards. UT Chattanooga ran 88 offensive plays for 477 yards while the Pioneers ran 45 plays for 78 yards.
The Pioneers also had several penalties on the night as they tallied 7 for 39 yards while the Mocs had 4 for 35 yards. UT Chattanooga also held a slight advantage in time of possession as they had the ball for 37:21 to the Pioneers 22:39.
Rahman Lee carried the ball 9 times for 26 yards while Derek McRae totted the ball 3 times for 11 yards.
Quarterback Darold Hughes went 13 for 23 for 61 yards and threw one interception. Hughes favorite receiver was Robert Jiles as he caught 3 passes for 22 yards. Justin Feagin hauled in 3 passes as well for 20 yards.
Safety Terry Reese led the defense with 12.5 tackles and an interception. Nate Ingersoll racked up 8 tackles on the night.
The Mocs were led by quarterback Jacob Huesman as he went 16 for 26 for 210 yards and 2 touchdown passes and an interception. Tommy Hudson led the receivers with 6 catches for 64 yards.
Marquis Green rushed for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns on 9 carries.
With the loss the Pioneers fall to 1-2 (1-0) on the season. They return to action next Friday, September 21st when they travel St. Charles, MO as they take on Lindenwood University. Kickoff is set for 8:00pm (EST).
