Lady Pioneers Win Home Opener

Dejana Ludoski and Heather Stout take a quick second to talk things over on the court

Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers volleyball team defeated the West Virginia Tech Golden Bears in their home opener 3-1 in front of a packed house.

GSC took the first two sets from the Golden Bears by a score of 25-19 and 25-18. But West Virginia Tech won the third set by a score of 25-18.

The Lady Pioneers then came back strong and finished off the Golden Bears in set four, 25-15.

GSC was led by Dejana Ludoski with 15 kills, Heather Stout racked up 8 kills, while Emily Osborne had 6 kills.

Rachel Morris and Ella Messinger both had 4 serve aces, and Dejana Ludoski chipped in with 3 serve aces. Dejana also led the team in digs with 7 on the night.

Stefanie Gladders had 16 assist on the night, while Kaci Sullivan had 15 assists.

West Virginia Tech was led by Haley Pauley with 9 kills, while Jaymee Hannan led her team in assists with 15.

The Lady Pioneers return to action this weekend, Friday the 21st and Saturday the 15th when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit to take part in the Cardinals Tournament.
