Glenville, WV – The annual 2012 Glenville State College Fine Arts Department Music Fest is scheduled for October 16th at 7:00 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The event features performances from the GSC Music Department including the Jazz Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Bluegrass Band, GSC Drum Line, and the GSC ‘Wall of Sound’ Marching Band.
“This is our finest concert of the year as it showcases the exceptionally varied talents of the GSC Music students. It has something for everyone,” said GSC Fine Arts Department Chair Lloyd Bone.
Admission costs for the 2012 GSC Music Fest are as follows: $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for public school students and GSC faculty and staff, and free to all GSC students. All proceeds of the evening benefit the Bertha Olsen Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund was established in 1980 in honor of Bertha E. Olsen, Professor Emeritus, who was a music teacher for 42 years at GSC. This annual scholarship is awarded to well-deserving GSC music majors.
