Glenville, WV – How fast do you think you can run while being chased by a hoard of zombies? In the spirit of Halloween, the 2012 Glenville State College Homecoming Zombie Survival Fun Run 5K will be your opportunity to prove what you are really made of while having a blast along the way.

“We encourage all the runners and walkers to dress up in Halloween costumes for this Fun Run 5K! My husband, GSC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Bunky Harkleroad, already has his costume picked out, but he is keeping it a secret. This will be a fun way to spend your GSC Homecoming and Halloween weekend with family and friends,” said Event Director/GSC Fitness Center Director Shan Harkleroad.

The race begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27th in downtown Glenville. Early registration is $15 and $20 after October 15th. You may still register on the day of the race beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the Glenville City Square Park. All who pre-register will receive a free t-shirt and those wearing a costume will receive $5 off their registration fee.

There will be awards presented to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as for the top two finishers in each age bracket.

All participants are also invited to attend the 2012 Homecoming Parade at 10:00 a.m. following the race and to support the GSC Pioneers as they face-off with the University of Charleston Golden Eagles at 1:30 p.m. at GSC Morris Stadium.

The 2012 GSC Homecoming Zombie Survival Fun Run 5K is presented and sponsored by the GSC Fitness Center, GSC Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild student organization, and the GSC Women’s Basketball Team. ‘Like’ Pioneer Homecoming Zombie Survival Fun Run 5k on Facebook to keep up-to-date on the race.
