Glenville, WV—The week of Sunday, October 14th through Saturday, October 20th has been designated as ‘International Week’ at Glenville State College. The establishment of this annual fall semester event is designed to demonstrate the importance Glenville State College places on providing its students with opportunities to learn about other societies through co-curricular activities.
“International Week reflects the commitment of Glenville State College to preparing its students for the challenges and opportunities of living and working in a global setting,” said Dr. John Peek, GSC Provost and Senior Vice President.
The schedule of events for the week will include a foreign film series, presentations on significant international issues, informational sessions on study abroad, reflections of community members who have lived abroad, displays of non-Western art and attire, a cultural event featuring foreign entertainers, a performance of international music, and samplings of international cuisine.
The GSC ‘International Week’ is being funded through a grant from the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission. The grant also allows for the reestablishment of an annual ‘Multicultural Week’ at GSC during the spring semester.
The GSC ‘International Week’ itinerary may be viewed by visiting www.glenville.edu and clicking on current students, then click on International Week under announcements.
