Morgantown, WV – The Glenville State College Pioneers basketball team fell to the West Virginia University Mountaineers in their last scrimmage before the start of the 2012-13 regular season by a score of 95-53.
The Pioneers were led by Lamont Cole, as he went 2 for 7 from the floor and 2 for 6 from behind the three point line, as he scored 10 points. Cole also pulled down four rebounds.
Andy Dollman chipped in with eight points and had three rebounds while Lamar Mallory also scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds.
Joe Ballard and DJ Blanks both scored five points each on the night.
Andre Jackson grabbed and team high six rebounds while Jamel Morris dished out a team high four assists.
The Mountaineers were led by Deniz Kilicli as he scored a game high 19 points. Juwan Staten scored 16 and handed out six assists.
Aaric Murry chipped in with 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Volodymyr Gerun scored 12 points for WVU.
The Pioneers were out rebounded by the Mountaineers 34 to 46 on the night.
WVU also shot 50 percent during the game while GSC shot 32 percent. The Pioneers however shot 27 percent from behind the three point line while the Mountaineers shot only seven percent.
The Pioneers also shot well from the free throw line as they shot 90 percent for the game.
The Pioneers first game of the 2012-13 season will be this Friday, November 9th when they take on Gannon University in the Ohio Valley University Classic in Vienna, West Virginia. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm.
