Princeton, WV – Charleston’s Terrell Lipkins and Glenville State’s DJ Blanks have been named co-WVIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, as announced by the league office.
Blanks, 6’3” freshman guard from Akron, Ohio, led the Pioneers to an 87-83 victory over Wheeling Jesuit in the team’s WVIAC opener. He came off the bench to tally a triple-double. For the game, he amassed 12 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists. The victory was GSC’s first in a league opener since the 2004 campaign.
Lipkins, a 6’0” junior guard from Canton, Ohio, averaged 28 points, five assists, 4.5 rebounds and three steals while leading the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 mark. In the win over Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, he dropped in 20 points, had six assists, five boards and three steals. Against Nova Southeastern, Lipkins poured in 36 points, had four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
