Bluefield, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers picked up a WVIAC Conference road win on Thursday night when they traveled to Bluefield State and walked away with a 111-93 win.
GSC took a quick five point lead at the 16:24 mark in the first half and never looked backed as they cruised to an 18 point victory.
The Lady Pioneers had five players score in double figures. Kenyona Simmons paced GSC with a game high 26 points. She also pulled down seven rebounds, and dished out three assists.
Ginny Mills also had a good game as she scored 23 points on the night. Ashleigh Fossett scored 13 points as she hit three three-pointers in the game.
Jessica Parsons chipped in with 11 points while LaToya Hambrick scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Bluefield State was lead by Charity Harris with 25 points while Dragana Tomic chipped in with 16 points.
The Lady Pioneers won the rebounding battle as they out rebounded Bluefield 66 to 59.
The Lady Pioneers are now 4-1 (2-0) on the season. They will return to action this Saturday at home when they take on West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats in a rematch of the 2012 WVIAC Tournament Championship game. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm.
