Glenville, WV - The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball squad won their third game in a row over WVIAC foe West Virginia Wesleyan College Bobcats on Saturday afternoon 92-68.
GSC found their selves down early 11-4 at the 15:37 mark of the first half. But the Lady Pioneers would keep on battling as they would tie the game at 29 all with 4:22 left to play till halftime.
On the next possession GSC would take the lead, 31-29 when Jelena Elez hit a jumper.
At halftime GSC would take a six point lead into the locker room, 39-33.
It would be all GSC from there on out as they cruised to a 24 point victory over the Bobcats, 92-68.
The Lady Pioneers defense would cause 28 turnovers and convent them into 22 points.
GSC’s bench scored 44 points in the victory.
The Lady Pioneers were led by Ashleigh Fossett as she scored 17 points.
Kenyona Simmons just missed a double double as she scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Tiffani Huffman also had a good game as she scored 13 points for GSC, and Jelena Elez scored 12 points.
The Bobcats were led by Atavia Blake as she scored a game high 21 points. Kerry Conroy chipped in with 19 points for West Virginia Wesleyan.
The Lady Pioneers return to action December 4th when they travel to Bowie, Maryland to take on Bowie State. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm.
