2012 GSC Homecoming Court Announced

Glenville, WV – The 2012 Glenville State College Homecoming Court was announced at the annual GSC Coronation Ceremony on October 22nd. The court presided over all the week’s events including the homecoming dance, picnic, bonfire, parade, and football game on October 27th.

GSC senior Elementary Education and General Math Education major Amelia Park was crowned the 2012 GSC Homecoming Queen. She is the daughter of Robert and Mildred Park of Shepherdstown, West Virginia (Jefferson County). Park is a member of the sorority Chi Zeta Pi, the national science honorary Chi Beta Phi, the the international honor society in the field of education Kappa Delta Pi, and the Student Education Association. In addition to serving on many campus advisory boards, she is a Resident Assistant in the GSC Goodwin Hall. She was nominated by Chi Zeta Pi.

GSC senior Criminal Justice major Bradley Benson was crowned 2012 GSC Homecoming King. He is the son of Neal and Renita Benson of Glenville, West Virginia (Gilmer County). Benson is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild and an active Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) participant. He also volunteers at the Gilmer Historical Society Holt House in downtown Glenville. Benson is a former member of the GSC Track and Field Team. He was nominated by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild.

GSC senior Elementary Education and English major Staci Moore served as a Senior Princess. She is the daughter of Curtis and Kristina Moore of Looneyville, West Virginia (Roane County). Moore is a member of the international honor society in the field of education Kappa Delta Pi, a GSC 100 mentor, a member of the Pioneer Student Swag Team, and a Senator at Large in the Student Government Association.

GSC senior History major Robert Nicholas served as Senior Prince. He is the son of Chip and Debbie Nicholas of Glenville, West Virginia (Gilmer County). Nicholas is a Middle School Football Coach at Gilmer County High School, a volunteer 4-H Leader, and an announcer at GSC and GCHS baseball games.

GSC senior Secondary Social Studies Education major Victoria Vineyard served as a Senior Princess. She is the daughter of Earl and Julie Vineyard of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia (Calhoun County). Vineyard is a member of the Student Government Association and the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. She also serves the Hidden Promise Consortium and the GSC 100 program as a mentor.

GSC junior Elementary Education English and Special Education major Kaitlyn Yerby served as Junior Princess. She is the daughter of Randy and Anita Yerby of Parkersburg, West Virginia (Wood County). Yerby is a member of the international honor society Kappa Delta Pi and serves as a Resident Assistant in the GSC Goodwin Hall. She is also a GSC Student Marshal.

GSC junior Computer and Information Systems major Tyrease Brown served as Junior Princess. He is the son of Teresa Brown of Madison Heights, Virginia (Amherst County). Brown is a member of the GSC Track and Field Team and the fraternity Sigma Omega Beta. He also serves as a Resident Assistant in the GSC Goodwin Hall.

GSC sophomore Psychology major Caitlin Gwinn served as Sophomore Princess. She is the daughter of Tommy and Doris Gwinn of Summersville, West Virginia (Nicholas County). Gwinn is a GSC Hidden Promise Scholar and was nominated by Sigma Pi Xi.

GSC sophomore Computer and Information Systems major Michael Sullivan served as Sophomore Prince. He is the son of James and Colleen Sullivan of Smithville, West Virginia (Ritchie County). Sullivan assists with the Calhoun County Wood Festival and announces Calhoun County High School football games on WVRC Spencer radio station.

GSC freshman Elementary Education major Taylor Davis served as Freshman Princess. She is the daughter of Linda Davis of Elizabeth, West Virginia (Wirt County). Davis is a member of the sorority Chi Zeta Pi.

GSC freshman Business Management major Eric Jones served as Freshman Prince. He is the son of Christina Jones of Weston, West Virginia (Lewis County). Jones is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild and participates in GSC Theatre. He also volunteers at the Gilmer Historical Society Holt House in downtown Glenville.  Jones was nominated by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild.

The 2013 GSC Homecoming Week will take place September 30th through October 5th.
