2012 Football Banquet Winners Announced

Glenville, WV –-On Sunday, December 9th friends and family joined Head GSC Football Coach David Hutchinson, GSC President Dr. Peter Barr, and others as they celebrated the 2012 Football Season as well as the 2012 seniors.

The Pioneers had a ton of accomplishments to celebrate this season in WVIAC Offensive Freshman of the Year Rahmann Lee, 11 WVIAC All-Conference Players, and finishing second in the WVIAC.

The Pioneer football team had 59 letterwinners this season.

DeAndre McCoy was named the Offensive Scout MVP while Andrew McGill took home the Defensive Scout MVP.

The Offensive Newcomer Award went to wide receiver/quarterback Justin Feagin while cornerback Darren Elliott took home the Defensive Newcomer Award.

Sophomore defensive lineman Hunter McWhorter took home the Academic Achievement Award.

Darold Hughes won the Dr. Nichols Award as well as the Coaches Award

Senior quarterback Darold Hughes was named the Dr. Nichols Award winner. Hughes also took home the Coaches Award while teammate and defensive lineman James Washington was also named the winner of the Coaches Award.

Senior offensive guard Jon Wilson won the Cuts and Knock Downs Award.

Rahmann Lee took home the Offensive MVP while Terry Resse and Demetrius Quarles were named co-Defensive MVP’s.

Senior offensive tackle Mark Jackson took home the Team MVP after having a great season.

“I would like to congratulate all the winners and all of the seniors for an outstanding season and career,” said Coach Hutchison.

“To all the young guys coming back lets be ready to get to work when school starts back up on January 14th , because next season starts now,” stated Hutchison.

The Glenville State Athletic Department would like to congratulate all the winners and wish the seniors the best of luck in the future.
