Glenville, WV – The GSC Lady Pioneers rolled over Ohio Valley on Friday night as they defeated the Fighting Scots by 56 points, 133-77.
The Lady Pioneers jumped out to an 11 point lead, 15-4 at the 15:25 mark when Ginny Mills drilled a three pointer.
GSC would control the rest of the game from there on out and have no trouble with the Fighting Scouts.
The Lady Pioneers would score 76 points in the first half, which ties an NCAA record for sixth all-time in most points in a half.
The Lady Pioneers also almost tied the record for most three-pointers made in a game, they finished with 29 made threes and just need one more to tie the record, the record was set in 2011 as Oklahoma Panhandle hit 30.
GSC’s defense caused 37 turnovers and their offense converted that into 48 points.
The Lady Pioneers also had 13 fast break points while Ohio Valley had none. Also GSC’s bench out scored the Fighting Scots bench 73 to 16.
GSC had six players score in double figures with Ginny Mills leading the way with 29 points. Jessica Parsons scored 17 points and handed out six assists.
Ashleigh Fossett and Kenyell Goodson both chipped in with 14 points. Tiffani Huffman scored 12 points while Jelena Elez finished with a double double as she scored 12 points and dished out a game high 10 assists.
Ohio Valley was led by Jasmine Gibson as she scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers will now head to Puerto Rico as they will play two games, one on Monday, December 17th and one on Wednesday, December 19th.
