Glenville, WV – The Glenville State men’s basketball team defeated the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots Friday night, 93-79.
The Pioneers found themselves down 3-0 in the early minutes of the first half but would come back and claim a five point lead 13-8 at the 14:51 mark in the first half.
The Pioneers would ride their hot shooting to an 11 point half time lead, 43-32.
In the second half Pioneers largest lead was at the 5:26 mark as they held a 17 point lead, 81-64.
GSC would out last a late run by Ohio Valley as they walked away victorious, 93-79.
The Pioneers outscored the Fighting Scots in the paint 52 to 34.
GSC was led by Lamar Mallory as he scored 25 points and grabbed a team high eight rebounds. Jamel Morris chipped in with 23 points while Kevin Gray scored 15 points.
DJ Blanks chipped in with 10 points and dished out six assists.
Ohio Valley was led by Ashton Brown with 24 points and seven rebounds.
The Pioneers return to action this Tuesday, December 18th when Urbana University travels to Glenville. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
