GSC Offering Evening College Classes in Braxton County

Glenville, WV—Glenville State College is offering several college courses for the spring 2013 semester at Braxton County High School. “We are very pleased that we will be offering off-campus courses this semester at the Braxton County Center. These classes certainly make it easier for more people to take advantage of the educational opportunities of Glenville State College,” said Kathy Gilbert, Assistant Coordinator of Off-Campus Programming for GSC.

GSC will be offering the following courses:    Critical Reading & Writing I (ENG 101, Monday 4-6:50 p.m.), U.S. History to 1877 (HIST 207, Monday 7-9:50 p.m.), Small Business Management (MGMT     202, Monday 7-9:50 p.m.), Management Information Systems (CSCI 260, Tuesday 4-6:50 p.m.), Dimensions in Professional Development (BUSN 296, Tuesday 7-9:50 p.m.), College Algebra (MATH 115, Wednesday 4-6:50 p.m.), Police Practices & Procedures (CRJU     222, Wednesday 4-6:50 p.m.), Cultural Diversity & Exceptionalities in Early Education, (EDUC 207, Thursday 4-5:50 p.m.), Introduction to Public Speaking (CART101, Thursday 4-6:50 p.m.), Business Law I (BUSN 270, Thursday    7-9:50 p.m.).

Any high school graduate residing in Braxton County may qualify for the Lorena Hefner Scholarship which covers the cost of tuition and fees for up to seven credit hours of off-campus courses. Students are responsible for the cost of textbooks.

Persons who have delayed starting their college careers, stay-at-home moms who would now like to start taking college courses, and those who started college but never finished a degree are encouraged to enroll for these classes.

Classes begin Monday, January 14th and run through Thursday, May 2nd.
