Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball team improved to 16-2 on the season after they defeated the Bluefield State College Lady Blues on Thursday night.
GSC jumped out to a 16 point lead, 29-13 halfway through the first half and never looked back from there as they would cruise to a 97-74 victory.
The Lady Pioneers dominated from start to finish as the Lady Blues never led in the game.
The Lady Pioneers defense caused 29 turnovers and converted them into 37 points. GSC also scored 20 second chance points while Bluefield State only scored 11.
Kenyell Goodson scored a game high of 21 points, she also pulled down seven rebounds.
Ashleigh Fossett hit four three pointers as she finished the game with 14 points. Jelena Elez scored 11 points and handed out a team high five assists.
Kenyona Simmons and DaShawna Carey both chipped in with 10 point apiece. Briauna Nox also had a good game coming off the bench as she scored eight points and grabbed a game high of nine rebounds.
Dragana Tomic led Bluefield State as she scored 16 points while Andrea Hauser chipped in with 12 points.
The Lady Pioneers return to the court Monday, January 28th when they travel to Concord. Game time is set for 5:30 pm.
