Kenyell Goodson Named co-WVIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Kenyell led the Pioneers to a 2-0 week and has helped guide the team to an 11-1 record in league play

Princeton, WV - Glenville State’s Kenyell Goodson and Pitt-Johnstown’s Kaitlynn Fratz have been named co-WVIAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, as announced by the league office.

Goodson, a 5’8” junior guard from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, led the Pioneers to a 2-0 week and has helped guide the team to an 11-1 record in league play.

In just 23 minutes of work against Fairmont State, Goodson netted 19 points, including 12 from behind the three-point stripe. She also grabbed three rebounds, had two steals and dished out an assist. Against Bluefield State, Goodson accounted for 21 points in just 22 minutes of work. She canned seven shots from the field, including five from downtown. Goodson registered four steals and two assists in the contest.

Fratz, a 5’4” sophomore guard from Accident, Md., guided the Lady Cats to a 2-0 week, helping push the team into fifth place in the league standings.

In the road win against West Virginia State, Fratz tied her career high with a 34-point effort. She drained eight-of-16 shots from the floor and connected on 16-of-20 foul shots. Fratz also had four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Against West Virginia Wesleyan, Fratz drained nine-of-18 attempts from the field, including three-of-six from downtown en route to a 24-point performance. With the score tied in the final minute, she drained a three-point bucket and later hit a foul shot in the four-point win. Fratz dished out a game-high four assists, had two rebounds and a steal.
