No. 12 Lady Pioneers Roll as they Down Concord 95-74

Ginny Mills scored a game high 33 points as the Lady Pioneers as they extend the winning streak to 19 games as they defeated the Concord Mountain Lions, 95-74

Glenville, WV – Ginny Mills scored a game high 33 points as the Lady Pioneers extend their winning streak to 19 games defeating the Concord Mountain Lions, 95-74 Thursday night.

The Lady Pioneers cruised to a win as they led the entire contest. The closest that Concord would get would be at the 17:42 mark of the first half when it was tied at 4 all.

GSC would go into halftime up by 18 points, 52-34.

The Lady Pioneers would continue to cruise in the second half as they would go on to win by 21 points, 95-74.

GSC out-scored the Mountain Lions in the paint 34 to 22. They also out-scored them on second chance points as the Lady Pioneers scored 23 to Concords 15 points. Adding to the list, they also won the rebounding battle, out rebounding the Mountain Lions, 67-50.

GSC was led by Ginny Mills as she scored a game high 33 points; she scored 28 in the first half alone. Kenyona Simmons posted a double double in the win as she scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Ashleigh Fossett chipped in with 17 points while LaToya Hambrick also scored in double figures scoring 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Aesha Peters grabbed a game high 12 rebounds while Jessica Parsons dished out a team high seven assists.

Concord was led by Rachel Artrip as she scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Amanda Smith scored 12 points in the loss. Stephanie Wagner also posted a double double in the game as she scored 10 points and dished out 10 assists.

The Lady Pioneers are 25-2 and 20-1 in WVIAC conference play, they return to the court Satuday, February 23rd as Alderson-Broaddus travel to Jesse R. Lilly Gym in the final regular season game. It will also be Senior Day for Jelena Elez and LaToya Hambrick. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm.
