Glenville, WV – The Glenville State men’s basketball team suffered a tough home loss to Alderson-Broaddus in the last regular season game, 70-79.
The Pioneers got down early 6 to 17 at the 14:50 mark in the first half but would battle back and only go into halftime down by eight, 27-35.
In the second half of play GSC would take their first lead of the game at the 14:18 minute mark as Jamel Morris drilled a three, putting GSC up one, 44-43.
However, the Battlers would come right back and go up by five, 48-53, with only 9:48 left in the game.
The Pioneers would try to cut into the lead but the Battlers would steal a victory from GSC as Alderson-Broaddus would go to win, 70-79.
Jamel Morris scored a game high 22 points for GSC while DJ Blanks scored 17 points in the loss.
Lamar Mallory would chip in with 15 points in the loss. Mallory also handed out two assists.
Alderson-Broaddus was led by Kurklin Bohanon as he scored 22 points with Roy Brown scoring 16 points.
The Pioneers will go on the road Tuesday night to play in the first round of the WVIAC Tournament. Check the website for the Pioneers’ opponent and game time.
