WVIAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Release

Men's basketball team getting hyped up.

Glenville State (12-15, 8-14) will travel to Shepherd Uinversity for the first round of the WVIAC Tournament

Princeton, WV – West Liberty secured the top seed in next week’s WVIAC Men’s Tournament and will have a first-round bye.

The Hilltoppers completed the regular season with a 27-1 overall mark, including a 21-1 effort in WVIAC play. WLU has a first-round bye and will take on the winner of the No. 8/9 game on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Charleston Civic Center at 8:30 p.m.

Fairmont State ended the regular season with a 19-7 overall record, including a 17-5 mark against conference competition. The Falcons host Ohio Valley (3-25, 2-20) Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Alderson-Broaddus (18-8, 16-6) secured the No. 3 seed and will host Bluefield State (4-22, 4-18) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Wheeling Jesuit (17-9, 14-8) entertains Davis & Elkins (8-18, 7-15) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Charleston (18-8, 14-8) downed West Virginia State (10-18, 7-15) in the regular-season finale to garner the fifth seed. The two square off at Charleston on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in a first-round game.

Shepherd earned the No. 6 spot after finishing the season at 15-11 overall and 12-10 in the WVIAC. The Rams host Glenville State (12-15, 8-14) in the first round. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Seton Hill (15-11, 12-10) took home the No. 7 seed and hosts No. 10 West Virginia Wesleyan (12-14, 9-13), which is fresh off a buzzer-beating win Saturday afternoon. The teams will take the court at 7 p.m.

Concord (16-10, 12-10) takes on Pitt-Johnstown (14-12, 10-12) in Athens Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.

First-round match-ups are played on the campuses of the higher seeds. All games are slated to be played Tuesday, Feb. 26.
