Spencer, W.Va. – On Saturday, August 24th the Glenville State College Pioneer football team traveled to Roane County High School as they hosted a mini kid’s camp and even held their second scrimmage of fall camp for GSC Alumni, fans, and friends.
Head Glenville State Coach David Hutchison, his staff, and all of the GSC Football players held the mini camp at 4:00pm at Roane County High School Stadium for Pop Warner and middle school kids.
The GSC staff and players gave hands on instructions, demonstrations, and techniques that will give each kid a better understanding of the game.
After the kids camp a large crowd got the chance to watch the GSC Pioneer football team play their second scrimmage of the 2013 Fall Camp. The fans got a chance to see running back Rahmann Lee, the 2012 National Freshman of the Year, along with linebacker and leading tackler from a year ago James Johnson.
Despite a close game the Pioneer offense came away with a 40-38 victory over the defense.
All in all it was a great day for GSC Alumni, fans, and friends as everyone prepares for the 2013 upcoming football season.
The Pioneers open up 2013 on the road at Virginia Military Institution on September 7th at 1:30pm.
