Shepherdstown, W.Va. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers had seven players score in double figures as they defeated the Shepherd University Rams on the road 130-77, as they picked up their first Mountain East Conference win.
GSC would jump out to an early 10 point lead half way through the first half and would never look back as they would cruise to a 53 point win on the road over Shepherd, 130-77.
They Lady Pioneers defense caused 45 turnovers and converted them into 65 points.
GSC also outscored the Rams in the paint 50 to 28. The Lady Pioneers also had 23 second chance points to Shepherd’s 12.
GSC connected on 19 three-points in the game.
Senior guard Ashleigh Fossett led the Lady Pioneers with 24 points, while fellow senior guard Kenyell Goodson scored 19 points in the win.
Tasia Bristow and Tiffani Huffman both finished with 17 points each. Kenyona Simmons chipped in with 13 points while Keyanna Tate scored 12 points, she also grabbed a team high 7 rebounds.
And Paige Tuttle chipped in with 10 points. Jessica Parsons dished a team high 10 assists.
Shepherd was led by Gabby Flinchum as she scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
With the win the Lady Pioneers picked up their first Mountain East Conference win of the year. They are now 3-1 (1-0) on the season. They return to action Monday, November 25th when they return home to Jesse R. Lilly Gymnasium as they take on Fairmont State. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
