Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State Pioneer basketball team pulled off a huge Mountain East Conference victory over arch rival Fairmont State University Falcons, 94-87.
The Pioneers would get down by 10, 22-12, with 8:11 left to play in the first half, however GSC would then find the hot hand and race out to an 11 point lead as they headed into halftime, 37-26.
In the second half the Pioneers would continue the good play and build a 20 point lead halfway through the second half.
But Fairmont State would make a late push but GSC would hold it off as they would go on to defeat the Falcons 94-87.
GSC would dominate FSU in the paint as they outscored them, 59 to 38.
The Pioneers also shot the ball well as they finished shooting 53 percent from the floor.
GSC had five players score in double figures with Lamar Mallory leading the way with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Reggie Williams scored 23 points and dished out a game high 7 assists.
Kevin Gray chipped in with 17 points while Donte Morales scored 14 points and pulled down 9 rebounds. Jordan McCloud also played well as he scored 11 points off the bench for GSC.
Fairmont State was led by Stevie Browning as he scored a game high 27 points.
The Pioneers return to action December 5th when they travel to Concord University. Game time is set for 7:30p.m.
