Former WVU Player Hired as GSC Basketball Assistant

“I am extremely excited to have Rob at Glenville State College. I believe that he will be a great asset, and help us improve tremendously in the future,” stated Dye.

Summers is from Gahanna, Ohio and played high school basketball at Lincoln High School. Upon graduation, he accepted a scholarship to play for Penn State University. After two seasons with PSU, he transferred to West Virginia University where he played for two years (2006-2007) averaging four points and five rebounds per game in his final season as a Mountaineer.

Following graduation from WVU, Summers played professionally, for three years overseas.

Summers has spent much of this past basketball season in Morgantown observing WVU practices and learning as much as possible from WVU Head Coach Bob Huggins.

“I am very happy to be joining Coach Dye’s program. I am looking forward to recruiting some great talent to GSC and helping the Pioneer program be successful,” said Summers.
