Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball team went on the road and defeated the Winston-Salem State University Rams by a final 86-83, as they extend their winning streak to five games.
Both teams would battle throughout the entire game however the game would be decided in the final minutes of play.
After the Rams tied it up at 83 all with 4 seconds left the Lady Pioneers would call a timeout and have one last chance to win the game.
After a long outlet pass GSC would find Ginny Mills, she would hit the winning three-pointer at the buzzer as the Lady Pioneers would walk away with the victory, 86-83. This was Mills second game winning three-pointer of the season, the last one came against Fairmont State back on November 25th.
The Lady Pioneers had four players score in double figures with Ginny Mills leading the way with 23 points. Kenyell Goodson would chip in with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Kenyona Simmons scored 14 points and pulled down 5 rebounds while Keyanna Tate scored 13 points and also pulled down 5 rebounds.
Jasmine Elum led the way for Winston-Salem State with a game high 24 points. Jovonah Graham finished with a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers are now 7-1 (4-0) on the season. They return to action this Friday, December 20th when they play in the Bluefield State Holiday Tournament, they will take on Bowie State. Tip-off is set for 6:00p.m.
