Glenville, W.Va. – The Glenville State men’s basketball team dropped a home non-conference game to Alderson Broaddus Saturday afternoon, 70-74.
Both teams battled back and fourth in the first half however Alderson Broaddus would take a 10 point lead into halftime, 34-24.
In the second half the Pioneers would come roaring back and take the lead with 8:11 to go on a Kevin Gray three-pointer, 55-53. However it wouldn’t be enough as GSC would fall to Alderson Broaddus, 70-74.
The Pioneers scored 34 points in the paint while Alderson Broaddus scored 22 points.
GSC had two players score in double figures with Lamar Mallory leading the way with a game high 25 points. Mallory also pulled down 5 rebounds in the contest.
Kevin Gray scored 21 points while Brien Winston, JJ Vazquez, and Lamont Cole dished out 3 assists in the game.
Alderson Broaddus was led by Ron Miller as he scored 23 points off the bench. Thylas Perkins chipped in with 22 points on the night.
The Pioneers return to the court Saturday, January 4th when West Virginia State travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 4:00p.m.
