Urbana, Ohio – The #12th Glenville State Lady Pioneers defeated the Urbana Blue Knights on the road Thursday evening, 102-92, as they won their 10th straight game in a row.
In the first half action GSC would build a 12 point at the 6:48 mark senior guard Taisa Bristow after she hit two free throws , 38-26. However Urbana would make a run and the Lady Pioneers would only take a five point lead into halftime, 48-43.
In the second half GSC would continue their good play and build a 19 point lead with about 12:00 minutes left to play in the game. Urbana would make a late push but it wouldn’t be enough as the Lady Pioneers would go on to claim a 10 point victory, 102-92.
The GSC defense caused Urbana to turn the ball over 29 times while the Lady Pioneers converted them into 24 points.
GSC had four players score in double figures with Keyanna Tate and Kenyona Simmons both scoring 21 points each. Tate also finished with 3 rebounds and 4 steals. Tasia Bristow and Ginny Mills both scored 15 in the victory. Bristow also handed out a team high seven assists.
Aesha Peters came off the bench as she pulled down a team high 10 rebounds and scored 4 points.
Urbana was led by Kate Francisco as she finished with a double double, scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers are 12-1 (7-0) on the season, they return to the court this Saturday, January 11th when Wheeling Jesuit travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm.
