Urbana, Ohio – The Glenville State College men’s basketball team traveled to Urbana and defeated the Blue Knights by four points, 65-62.
In the first half of play the Pioneers would find their selves down by 13 points as they headed into halftime.
In the second half the Pioneers would continue to chip away at the Blue Knights lead as GSC would tie it up at 21 all with 1:46 left to play in the game. And later the Pioneers would take their first lead in the second half off of a Lamar Mallory layup, making it 63-61, with 24 seconds left to play.
The Pioneers would later add two more points, 65-61, as they would pull off a nice comeback victory on the road over the Blue Knights.
The Pioneers scored 20 points off of Urbana’s turnovers. GSC also outscored Urbana in the paint 40 to 36.
Lamar Mallory scored a game high 26 points and pulled down 9 rebounds to lead the Pioneers. Donte Morales also scored in double figures with 19 points and 12 rebounds as he finished with a double double.
Urbana was led by Casey Baker as he scored 14 points.
The Pioneers return to action this Saturday, January 11th when Wheeling Jesuit travels to Glenville. Game time is set for 4:00 pm.
