Glenville, W.Va. – The #12 Glenville State Lady Pioneers blasted MEC Conference newcomer Notre Dame Falcons on Saturday afternoon as they picked up a 36 point victory, 125-89.
GSC quickly jumped out to a 12 point lead, 19-7, at the 16:37 mark of the first half after Kenyell Goodson drilled a deep three-pointer.
However Notre Dame would continue to fight a knot it up at 43 all with only 1:44 left till halftime. The Lady Pioneers would take a slight lead into the half as they led by three points, 48-45.
In the second half it was all GSC as they cruised to the 36 point win, 125-89.
The Lady Pioneers never trailed in the game.
GSC’s defense caused Notre Dame to turn it over 36 times; the Lady Pioneers converted those turnovers into 49 points.
The Lady Pioneers shot 43 percent from the floor and 44 percent from behind the three-point line.
GSC had six players score in double figures with Ginny Mills dropping a game high 30 points in the win. Ashleigh Fossett scored 17 points, with Kenyona Simmons scoring 12 points, while Kenyell Goodson came off the bench to score 11 points.
Jessica Parsons and Tiffani Huffman both finished the night with 10 points. Parsons also dished out a game high 7 assists.
Keyanna Tate grabbed a game high 11 rebounds.
Martha Nagbe and Erin Entinghe both scored 14 points for Notre Dame.
The Lady Pioneers return to the court Thursday, January 23rd when West Virginia Wesleyan travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
