Glenville, W.Va. – The #11 Glenville State Lady Pioneers defeated the Concord University Mountain Lions on Saturday afternoon by 19 points, 108-89.
Concord would jump out to a 10 point lead, 17-27, over the Lady Pioneers in the first half of play.
However GSC would come roaring back as they claimed a 11 point lead, 53-42, heading into halftime.
And in the second half it would be all GSC as they dominated the Mountain Lions and cruised to a 19 point win, 108-89.
The Lady Pioneers defense caused 18 turnovers and converted them into 27 points. GSC won the rebounding battle as they out-rebounded the Mountain Lions 47 to 46.
Kenyona Simmons scored 19 points for the Lady Pioneers while Tiffani Huffman scored 18 points.
Tasia Bristow and Kenyell Goodson both scored 12 points each while Bristow dished out a game high 6 assists. Keyanna Tate scored 11 points and Ginny Mills chipped in with 10 points.
Aesha Peters grabbed a team high 11 rebounds.
Concord was led by Andrea Bertrand as she finished with a double double scoring a game high 30 points and grabbing a game high 14 rebounds. Jacqueline Kestner also had a double double on the night as she scored 17 points and had 11 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Thursday, January 30th when UVa-wise travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
