Pioneers Suffer Tough Loss to Conocrd

Justin Caldwell scored a season high 39 points but it’s not enough as the Concord University Mountain Lions defeated the Pioneers 104-88.

The Pioneers played pretty well most of the game but the Mountain Lions pulled away late in the second half.
The Pioneers and the Mountain Lions both shot the ball well as they both shot 36 percent from behind the arc.
The Mountain Lions defense did cause the Pioneers problems as they turned the ball over 16 times which led to 20 points for Concord.
Other than Caldwell, the Pioneers had only two other players score in double figures with Jonathan Bevins scoring 14 points, he also grabbed 7 rebounds. Nick Dent chipped in with 13 points while Nate Cash grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out a team high 4 assist.
Concord had five players score in double figures with Rick Alderman scoring 27 points, he also grabbed a game high 8 rebounds.
Corey Neeley scored 17 points along with Gentry Sherwsbury chipping in with 15 points.
The Pioneers are sitting at 4-18 (4-15) on the season, they will return to action on Saturday, February 19th at home when they will battle the number 1 team in the nation West Liberty. Game time is set for 7:30PM. All fans are encouraged to wear white for a white-out; also everyone in white will receive free admission.
