Justin Caldwell and Nick Dent seemed to provide the Pioneers with the only offense Saturday afternoon. Caldwell had a game high 24 points, while Dent scored 21 points. Dent also broke the GSC all time made three pointer record with 219 made threes in his career as a Pioneers.
Jonathan Bevins scored 8 points and grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds, while Octavius Hinnant scored 5 points and handed out a team high 3 assist.
The Pioneers had some good chances in the game to cut into the lead in the second half, but were not able to cash in on them as they fell to the number 2 team in Division II. West Liberty scored 29 points off of 22 turnovers by the Pioneers.
West Liberty had five players score in double figures, with Jordan Fortney leading the way with 22 points, Barry Shetzer chipped in with 17 points, and Corey Pelle dished out a game high 9 assist.
The Pioneers return to action on Monday when the University of Charleston invades the Jesse R. Lilly Gym with tip-off at 7:30PM.
