Gray Named MEC Player Of The Week

Gray averaged 19.3 points for the Pioneers

Bridgeport, W.Va. - Glenville State’s Kevin Gray has been named the Mountain East Conference Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to three league wins last week.

Gray, a senior guard from Columbus, Ohio, averaged 19.3 points for the Pioneers. He scored 19 points to help GSC get past Fairmont State, 76-75, and then contributed 14 points in a home win over Urbana. He capped the week with a strong performance in a win at Notre Dame College with 25 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Brett Ervin (West Virginia Wesleyan) averaged 21 points in a 2-0 week for the Bobcats … Brantley Osborne (Shepherd) averaged 25.5 points and tied a school record with nine three-pointers in a win over Wheeling Jesuit … Terry Hopewell (Concord) had a double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds) in a win over West Virginia State … Kyle Ritz (Wheeling Jesuit) had two double-doubles and averaged 17.3 points in a 2-1 week for the Cardinals … Thomas Wimbush (Fairmont State) averaged 15.6 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Falcons … Danny Goins (Urbana) went over the 1,000-point mark for his career … Shawn Dyer (West Liberty) recorded 21.5 points, seven rebounds and three assists for the ‘Toppers … Lawrence DeArmond (Notre Dame College) averaged 19 points and 2.5 steals.
