Glenville, W. Va. - On Friday, February 21st several members of the Glenville State College Pioneer football team traveled to Normantown Elementary to read and interact with the elementary students.
“I think that it is great giving back to the community and the kids really enjoy it and it puts a big smile on all of the kid’s faces,” stated linebacker Taylor Coleman.
“I had a lot of fun, and I think the kids did also, it’s really important that we show the community how much we really value their support,” said wide receiver Quin Thornton.
“One of the great things about our football program is their eagerness and willingness to be an integral part of Gilmer County,” stated Head Coach David Hutchison. “Our guys are from all over the country, from all different types of backgrounds so I believe they get just as much out of our community out-reach program as anyone.”
This was the first of multiple scheduled visits GSC Football has during the spring semester to help promote reading and community involvement.
