GSC Theatre Members Performed ‘The Apple Tree’

GLENVILLE, WV—Glenville State College Theatre actors and actresses have recently wrapped up their latest performance of ‘The Apple Tree’. ‘The Apple Tree’ was directed and designed by Professor of Communications and Theatre Director Denis Wemm. It was also the first musical to be presented by GSC Theatre participants in fourteen years.

The student cast for ‘The Apple Tree’ included: GSC senior math education (5-adult) major Samantha Wolford from Buckannon (Upshur County), West Virginia as Eve; GSC sophomore math education (5-adult) major Robert Hensley from Dundalk, Maryland as the snake and the producer; GSC sophmore Elementary Education (K-6), Multi-Categorical (K-6), and General Math-Algebra I (5-9) major Allegra Reid-Davis from Salem (Harrison County), West Virginia as Princess Barbara; GSC junior computer and information systems major Brandon Nelson from Glenville (Gilmer County), West Virginia as Captain Sanjar; GSC junior natural resource management major Andrew Mattox from  Pineville (Wyoming County), West Virginia as the tiger; GSC senior natural resource management major Brittany Ferguson from Glenville (Gilmer County), West Virginia as the prisoner’s bride and the narrator; GSC freshman criminal justice major Alisha Carte from Belva (Nicholas County), West Virginia as the guard; GSC senior music major Dessirae Crim from Weston (Lewis County), West Virginia as the tiger keeper; GSC sophomore English major Lindsey Acree from Ripley (Jackson County), West Virginia as Ella the chimney sweep; GSC senior Spanish education major Lindsay Morgan from Weston (Lewis County), West Virginia as the narrator; GSC freshman criminal justice major Mathew Strahan from Noble, Oklahoma as Prince Charming; GSC freshman English education (5-adult) major Mary Lewis from Harpers Ferry (Jefferson County), West Virginia as the reporter; and GSC freshman general studies major Kurtis Richard from Clarksburg (Harrison County), West Virginia as the stagehand.

Other cast members included: GSC Assistant Professor of Biology and Science and Mathematics Department Chair Dr. Gary Morris from Glenville (Gilmer County), West Virginia as King Arick; Dr. Morris’s son Sebastian Morris as the prisoner and Mr. Fallible; Dr. Morris’s daughter Isabel Morris as the newsie; and local resident Justin Church from Glenville (Gilmer County), West Virginia as Adam.
