Simmons Earns Daktronics NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Women’s Basketball All-Region Team

– Glenville State’s Kenyona Simmons has been named to Daktronics NCAA DII Atlantic Region Women’s Basketball All-Region Second Team

Shippensburg, Pa. - Glenville State’s Kenyona Simmons has been named to Daktronics NCAA DII Atlantic Region Women’s Basketball All-Region Second Team.

Simmons led the Lady Pioneers to a 28-3 record, a Mountain East Conference (MEC) regular season championship, and a Mountain East Conference (MEC) Tournament Championship.

Simmons led GSC in scoring with 15.8 points per game. She also averaged 4.8 rebounds per game. Kenyona was named to the MEC All-Conference First Team as well as being named the MVP of the MEC Conference Tournament.

SImmmons and the Lady Pioneers are now preparing for the NCAA DII Women’s Basketball Atlantic Regional Tournament in which GSC is the host and number one seed.They will play number eight seed West Liberty Friday night March 14th at 6:00 pm.  

West Virginia State University senior guard Lexy Carson was named the Atlantic Region’s Most Outstanding Player.
