Offense Defeats Defense in GSC Annual Spring Football Game

Glenville, W.Va. – The GSC football team held their Annual Spring Football game on a chilly Thursday evening at I.L. & Sue Morris Stadium in front of a nice crowd.

The White Team (offense) defeated the Blue Team (defense) by a final score of 41-35.

On the offensive side of the ball Rahmann Lee had a nice game as he had several good runs and also had a touchdown run in the second half. Newcomer Tevin Drake also had a nice game at the running back position.

Quaterback Sean Steele threw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter as he connected with Darren Holbrook. Alfonso Medina also had a nice game at quarterback as he threw a touchdown pass in the first quarter as he hit Damon Robinson.

Kicker Tanner Wright connected on a 35 yard field goal for the offense.

On the defensive side of the ball Zach Mayes had several big plays from his safety position. Cornerback DeMarkus Davis had an interception in the game while linebacker Elija Sala also had an interception.

Linebacker Alex Joseph and Seth Vanorsdale both had nice games as each finished with several tackles.

Defensive Lineman Hunter McWhorter had several tackles and a sack in the game while defensive end Javon Webster finished with three sacks on the night.

The Pioneers open up the 2014 season on Saturday, September 6th on the road at Concord. Their first home contest is Saturday, September 13th when West Liberty travels to Glenville.
